Venous Reflex Test

According to the Vascular Disease Foundation, more than 24 million people in the United States suffer from varicose veins, and 6 million suffer from skin changes.  Women are especially susceptible to venous insufficiency, with a high percentage of 72% from ages 60-69 showing symptoms. 43% of men form ages 60-69 also show symptoms of venous insufficiency.

Venous reflux disease occurs when valves in your leg veins are diseased or damaged and are unable to close properly. Blood does not flow through your veins correctly, which can result in the pooling of blood. This can cause painful swelling, discoloration, skin ulcers, and spider or varicose veins. A venous reflux test can be done to test how well the valves in your veins work.
